Today in Year 5

We have had a brilliant day today. This morning, we had a visit from Dr Joanne Pledger, who talked to us about the planets in our Solar System. We then got the chance to draw a scale model.
This afternoon, we had lots of fun making balloon rockets!
Well done, everyone!STEAM week 001

  1. I really enjoyed today and drawing the solar system map! Also it was great fun designing and building our own balloon rockets! I’m really looking forward to tomorrow!

  2. Wow! This looks like a great lesson Year 5! You all obviously had lots of fun learning. What I’d really like to know is how you made a rocket using a balloon? Also, what were the most interesting facts you learnt about our solar system?

  3. It was extremely fun! I especially enjoyed making our balloon rockets and ‘ launching ‘ them. We attached a balloon to the straw, which was thread through some string, tied to 2 chairs, then we let go ! it was quiet easy, though really fun and we put wings and a cone to make it go faster!
